FINDING THE BALANCE
I’m genuinely curious: how do you find balance?
What I’ve been finding in the past few weeks as the newsletter grows (welcome to the 12 new subscribers!! 👋🙏) and as I try and build an engaged community and engage in other communities: I’m simply over-subscribed and out of balance.
I have a family (wife & 2 kids), a full-time job (9-5), and hobbies (running—1500kms this year, woodworking). That keeps me busy as it is.
Then I decided to start this newsletter.
And create an in-depth (and FREE) How To Build A Newsletter guide—coming soon!
And join Ship 30 For 301 🚢
And join 3 other online communities 🙃
And Corey Haines Twitter Growth Challenge 🐦
And join a podcast as a 4-week co-host 🎙
And start up my Conversation in Spaces 🟣 (guests thus far: Justin Welsh, Louis Shulman, Danny Miranda).
My plate is kind of full, but I’m also excited for the challenge!
Still… I’ll take any advice I can get. Back to my question: how do you find balance?

🎧 PODCAST
Christine Garnett: Becoming a Chief Community Officer - EP 123 The Tim Stodz Podcast
Christina Garnett may have accidentally started the #marketingtwitter community with this tweet. She’s a community builder and aspiring Chief Community Officer. Tim navigated the conversation marvelously, and got Christina to share her pillars for building an online community…
→ Awareness: earned by reaching out to ‘micro-influencers’ + small biz for cross-promos; local ads or small FB budget
→ Human Touch: getting good reviews, developing an “army of fans”, networking with your customers
→ User-Generated Content (UGC): getting your community members to build, shape and moderate your community as it grows is pivotal
